Damascus Chamber of Tourism Discusses Strengthening Tourism Cooperation with the Italian Ambassador
The Inbound Tourism Committee at the Damascus Chamber of Tourism held a meeting with His Excellency the Ambassador of the Italian Republic in Damascus, at his residence, to discuss ways of enhancing tourism cooperation between Syria and Italy and attracting more Italian tourists to Syria.
The meeting addressed the key challenges facing tourism flows from the Italian market, as well as practical steps to overcome these obstacles and revitalize tourism exchange between the two countries.
The Committee highlighted the importance of organizing FAM Trips for leading Italian tour operators, in addition to hosting influencers and social media content creators, with the aim of showcasing Syria’s rich tourism potential, cultural heritage, and civilizational diversity.
Both sides emphasized the importance of strengthening communication channels between Syrian and Italian tourism stakeholders, while exploring opportunities for future cooperation in tourism promotion and marketing initiatives targeting the Italian market.
The meeting concluded by stressing the need to develop joint working mechanisms that contribute to reintroducing Syria as a distinctive and attractive destination for Italian travelers.
